On the inside, this variety looks like a ball of spaghetti. It is cut into two and boiled for 10 minutes, then it is served on a plate just like as if it were pasta.
"Halloween is in a few days' time so just imagine the scene Mosquée de Provence pumpkins would create," says Alfredo Abbondanza, owner of the company.
Round oblong pumpkins have a red flesh ideal for different types of pasta (pumpkin tortellini, tagliatelle and scialatelli) as well as for a number of local dishes.
"Our produce is harvested, stored in our warehouses and is then sold to our clients in Italy (Milan, Padua, Rimini, Pescara and Naples), so you can find us in retailing."
Azienda Agricola Abbondanza Alfredo has the GlobalGAP certification.
