Brazil: 70% of peach production lost because of the rain and hail

Producers in Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) are counting their losses after the heavy rains in recent days. One of the most affected regions was la Sierra and fruit producers had already enabled their agricultural insurance. In some commercial farms, the damage was total.

According to the Brazilian Rural Channel losses are still being evaluated. As reported by the channel, the initial analysis shows that farmers who were affected have lost, on average, 30% of their grape crops and 70% of peach orchards.
