South African, Russian, Brazilian and UAE distributors seek Spanish fruit and vegetables

Purchasing centres for the main distribution groups in South Africa, Russia, Brazil and United Arab Emirates seek Spanish fruit and vegetables, as a result of which plenty of contacts have been pursued during the international fair Fruit Attraction, which took place in Madrid last week.

To this end, they took part in "B2BFruit New Markets", a space intended to facilitate meetings between companies and purchasers to enable them to close commercial deals. According to the event's organisers, approximately 500 business to business meetings took place during the first two days of the fair.

Fruit Attraction's head of visitors and activity programs, Santiago Díez, explained that this platform was designed "for business deals to be made and to help meet the specific needs of supply and demand."

Before the fair, a list of international purchasers from these four countries had already been elaborated: 40 contacts which have had meetings with around 60 companies.

"It is just another tool for exhibitors to maximise the investment they made to attend the fair." As a result of it, meetings have been established with previously identified purchasers, interested in acquiring their products.

These countries are all great importers of Spanish products, and South Africa has been identified as a market with great potential for the growth of Spanish fruit and vegetable shipments in the long term.
