The deep freeze company Westfro have more than 40 years experience in the production and delivering of deep freeze vegetables, fruit and herbs. "We offer our clients a complete range," explains commercial director Charlotte Verhelle. The company had a stand from 5-9 October at the fair in Anuga, Cologne. "This year we have also invested in a totally new state of the art, manufacturing facility. Previously the packing and storage capacity was expanded. Now our capacity has greatly increased compared to previous years. We can now produce 95.000 tons per year for our customers."
Food service
Westfro delivers worldwide, but the EU is the main market for Westfro. "We are especially active in food service in Germany and France," says Charlotte. "We think it is important to distinguish ourselves and we do that by building long-term relationships. Our customers are also pleased by the combination of high quality and fair prices for the products. What is special is that they advertise us because they are so satisfied. We are continually busy to maintain the quality the whole year through. We do not want to see our products fluctuate in quality and are therefore very strict."
Westfro products are traded under their own brand and another private label. "It is around 50/50," says Verhelle. "Food service is our largest market and historically we have strong growth. Additionally we also supply to industry and retail, and because we focus on the best quality, we actually fit into any market."
