In spring 2014, Freska Produce International, LLC will launch a new line of fresh mangos featuring beloved Disney characters on packaging such as stickers and display bins. Four varieties of Mexican mangos (Tommy Atkins, Kents, Keitts and Ataulfos) will be available at grocery retailers nationwide. Characters will rotate throughout the program for special promotions and marketing tie-ins.
Mangos are one of the most versatile fruits available. They can be made into smoothies, as part of a salad, as well as featured in main courses and desserts. Their sweet taste makes them a perfect fit for children’s palates.
“Mangos are a highly nutritious and delicious fruit,” said Gary Clevenger, partner at Freska. “We look forward to increasing consumer consumption of mangos with the appeal of Disney characters and promoting a healthy lifestyle for families.”
