Black Gold Farms & McCormick® Produce Partners® partnership gains industry recognition

In June of 2013, Black Gold Farms introduced a new value-added potato product that included fresh potatoes with a McCormick Produce Partners season packet. After positive response from retailers and consumers alike, the industry has also recognized Black Gold Farms with a nomination for the Produce Marketing Association’s Annual Marketing Impact Award.

The Black Gold Farms seasoned potato product is innovative to the category due to the convenience for consumers, and unique clamshell style packaging with easy to carry handle. The product is also the first shelf-stable, fresh potato product that includes a seasoning without being par-cooked or requiring refrigeration.

Research from the United States Potato Board, as well as consumer trends and retailer feedback, indicates that consumers are looking for new ideas on what to make with fresh potatoes. Teaming up with McCormick Produce Partners seasonings, Black Gold Farms capitalized on these trends and introduced three roasted potato flavors including; Roasted Italian Herbs; Toasted Onion & Garlic and Roasted Garlic & Rosemary.

In addition to on pack messaging, the new products can be ordered for retail with a complimentary, high-graphic, free-standing retail display that helps draw attention to this new item in store.
