6,000 surgeries and health centres
During the month of September, 300,000 leaflets have started being handed out at 6,000 British surgeries and health centres. These include advice from Fiona, nutritional information, recipe advice and information about the campaign.
In the words of Fiona Hunter, "the handing out of leaflets is a very exciting step for the campaign "Vegetables from Europe: We Care, You Enjoy", as they will allow us to reach around 38 million readers, counting both patients and visitors, aware and receptive on issues regarding healthy eating. This way, we can educate and inform consumers about the benefits in consuming fresh produce and demonstrate the efforts made by European growers to produce them in a safe manner."
The campaign
"Vegetables from Europe: We Care, You Enjoy" is a campaign promoted nationwide in the United Kingdom, Germany and Austria to inform consumers about the importance of eating fresh vegetables from Europe, as well as about their high quality due to Europe's strict regulations.
The initiative is being supported by the European Union and the Spanish Government and promoted by the organisations Hortyfruta (Interprofessional Organisation of Fruits and Vegetables from Andalusia) and Proexport (Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruits and Vegetables from the Region of Murcia).
