Chilean avocado marketers have announced their intention to focus on the retailer market this year, and to this end, the Association of Importers of Avocados from Chile (CAIA) is organising plenty of promotional activities, including a total of 40,000 dollars in prizes for the retailers who can best display the fruit at their shops.
The competitors will need to send a photo of the shelf where the Chilean avocados are displayed and they will receive a "scratch and win" card, giving them the opportunity to win from 50 to 500 dollars. They will also get the chance to win gift cards through "Chile Club".
Participants will be able to obtain prizes either on-line or scratching the card at the place where the avocados are purchased.
Additionally, CAIA is supporting retailers with a wide range of promotional materials, with the goal of helping boost the sales of Chilean avocados.
CAIA will provide retailers with all the information: recipes, photos and videos which they can publish on their social media pages, websites or blogs. The objective is to enable retailers to develop their own promotional campaigns.
CAIA's emphasis for the 2013/2014 season will be on the retailer sector, but without abandoning any other opportunities.
