This season, which started on Wednesday March 13, the company's 50,000m2 facilities are expected to produce around 75,000 kilos. Prices range from 20 Euro for the smallest size (22mm) up to 110 Euro / kilo for larger caliber (32mm).
"This year, in addition to consolidating our usual markets of Russia, Dubai, Qatar, England, Italy, France, Singapore and Spain, we will start to sell these unique cherries in the markets of Canada and Kuwait," said Oscar Ortiz.
"The goal for our engineers and researchers is to make it the most exclusive cherry, not only for its timing, but also for its taste. It is a topic that has us very excited because we think this season our customers will be pleasantly surprised when they taste them," he said.
The first batches to Russia were sent out yesterday and may be bought in supermarkets today.
The Russian market accounts for almost a quarter of their production and 70% of their best calibers, the Spanish market accounted for only 8% last year, four points lower than in 2011 and far from the 44% in 2008.
