Van Kessel Fruit starts using new packaging machine

A few weeks ago Van Kessel Fruit in Veldriel started using the renewed and fully optimalised packaging machine STRAUSS EW20 for apples. The machine was supplied bu the German manufacturer Strauss. Every Dutch and Belgian fruit grower knows the name Strauss. Most fruit growers know Strauss due to the many Strapack machines which were placed in the eighties. These machines are still used in some places.

TMI Agri Systems improved the packaging machines in many ways in collaboration with Strauss. Fruitmasters in Geldermalsen has been working with the old Strapack machine's successor for a number of years, and is very satisfied. The fruit treatment has improved, and the accuracy of the filled weight has been maximised. The smooth conveyor belts have been replaced by belts with ridges (golfbanden) so that the fruits no longer bump into each other. The pneumatic support under the sack has an adjustable delay, and all these options mean that the fruits are brought to the bag very carefully.

The STRAUSS EW20 is a filling machine to which a bag filling machine or a weighing machine can be linked. At Fruitmasters and Van Kessel Fruit the machines run with two TA-10 bag fillers. The machine can also be fitted with an attachment to fill punnets for pears. The machine can also be fitted with a TA-10 bag filler on one side and a filler to put the pears in trays on the other. One of the big advantages of this machine is the barely beatable accurate weighing. Due to the application of refined software combined with the possibility to make the perfect match from 52 fruits this machine also offers everything to satisfy a critical fruit packager.

The capacity of the machine is an average of 36 sack a minute with a weight of 1.5 to 3 kilos per sack. The machine is fitted with a user-friendly touch-screen control panel. A final important point is the very interesting price-quality ratio.
