West Pak Avocado hires Mario Pacheco as CEO

West Pak Avocado, Inc. of Murrieta, California has announced the appointment of Mario Pacheco as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Pacheco will manage day to day operations at West Pak and oversee all financial and business building efforts for the produce distributor.

West Pak Avocado Co-Founders, Randy Shoup and Galen Newhouse, who are looking to retire from the daily operations of their 30-year-young business, are enthusiastic to welcome Pacheco to their close-knit family operation.

“Mario brings a certain level of expertise to West Pak Avocado with an impressive and well-rounded background in the produce industry,” said Shoup. “He is a welcome addition to our company and I am confident that he will be an amazing, not to mention well respected, leader for our team.”

With 21 years of experience at Chiquita Brands International, and having worked in Latin America, Europe and the United States, Pacheco most recently served as President of Great White Fleet (GWF), a logistics and shipping operations subsidiary. He also previously served as Senior Vice President of Global Logistics and Vice President of Sourcing and Product Allocation, among several other leadership positions.

When asked about his new appointment, Pacheco stated, “I look forward to working with West Pak’s valued customers, growers, suppliers, and internal team to continue the company’s successful momentum forward. As the incoming CEO, I look to always implement the best possible business practices while maintaining the company’s much-deserved reputation with continued high standards.”
