US: Blueberry variety Duke - harvest in one month

“We are waiting for the first time harvest of the blueberry variety Duke, which will start in approximately one month”, says Richard Arancibia, agronomist and manager of the company BRGG Holding in Lewis County, Washington, United States. He shared this picture (below) with the description: “Clean rows, healthy plants and bees doing their job.”

He explains that their production of this variety is in the pollination stage. “We have about 350 acres in total, of which 115 acres are the Duke variety. Even though it’s our first harvest of the Duke blueberries, we expect good volumes of 2lbs per plant and 3,168 lbs per acre. For now this production is for the domestic market, but the intention is to start exporting from next year on to Europe and Asia. Our other varieties are 130 acres of Legacy, 75 acres Calypso, 30 acres Blue crop.”
