China: Port of Guangxi undergoes trial operations for fruit imports

The Dongxing border port designated for fruit imports started trial operations on March 7th and began the prologue to direct development of imported fruit trade in Dongxing. This is the second designated port for overland fruit import in Guangxi, after Pingxiang port, to officially begin operations. Opening this port is a milestone in the cooperation between Dongxing in China and Mong Cai in Vietnam and in the history of port construction.

The trial operations run from March 7th 2018 to May 7th 2018. During this period both China and Vietnam will exempt importers and exporters from various fees and tolls. Both sides will allow motorized vehicles with a cargo of 5 tons or less to pass through.
