Women's Catalyst Award now accepting nominations

The Center for Growing Talent by PMA (CGTbyPMA) is now accepting nominations for its new Women’s Catalyst Award. The award will honor one leader annually from the fresh produce and floral industry who is cultivating women’s potential by mentoring women and by providing a path for their leadership, development and participation. The award nominations website is now live; nominations are due by Aug. 10.

Executive Director Margi Prueitt announced creation of the Women’s Catalyst Award in October at CGTbyPMA’s Women’s Fresh Perspectives Leadership Breakfast held at PMA’s Fresh Summit Convention & Expo. This is the first talent-centric award from the Center for Growing Talent by PMA, which was created more than 10 years ago by industry and PMA to provide industry-specific solutions to attract, develop and retain talent. The Women’s Catalyst Award is one of five Awards of Excellence that PMA or CGTbyPMA sponsor annually.

By recognizing an inspiring and innovative leader each year, CGTbyPMA seeks to build industry’s awareness of the value of mentoring women, and to create excitement around women’s leadership.

“We know that there are some amazing people out there striving to cultivate women’s potential in our industry – they mentor us, they inspire us to raise the bar, and they teach us by their excellent example,” Prueitt told the breakfast audience of over 540 women and men in October. “We also know that when leaders like that are recognized, they inspire others to do the same. They inspire others to also cultivate women’s potential.”

Nominees can be men or women and must be PMA members. There is no cost to enter. The 2018 awardee will be named at the Women’s Fresh Perspectives Leadership Breakfast this October. For more information, visit www.growingtalentbypma.org/resources.
