According to Wilko, Morocco is one of the best production countries of the best oranges nowadays. “However, there are differences in the regions in Morocco. The very best and most flavourful come from the Gharb region. Soil decides much, and this region has the most water of Morocco. Besides, this region has a microclimate, so that it’s nice and warm during the day, and temperatures drop considerably during the night. Because of this, the temperature differences are the largest of the country, resulting in the highest sweet content, the oranges have a brix of 14-16. Additionally, the oranges weigh much more than the fruit from Agadir. The juice percentage of 8-9 litres is extremely high,” Wilko concludes.
