China: Southern vegetable market currently readjusting

The southern vegetable market is currently in a period of readjustment. Warehouses have recently been emptying their stocks. At the same time, after the Chinese New Year, the warehouses have opened their doors for the supply of goods that arrive one after the other and the supply is increasing. After the rush of Chinese New Year has passed, the southern vegetable market is gradually returning to regular conditions. The market conditions of the Chinese New Year have ended relatively early. Lettuce, in particular, has already fallen below 2 yuan [0.32 USD]. Mustard has greatly increased in price because the supply volume is small. Coriander and cabbage show the most radical change.

The northern market is overall in better condition than the southern market. The price levels are stable. There is some increase and decrease for specific products, and the Chinese New Year conditions continue, but supply volume also gradually increases. When the Chinese New Year conditions are over, then the northern market may also show readjustments to regular conditions.
