China: Henan Wanbang Market: green pepper price continues to rise

Last week, the green pepper price was 9 yuan per kilogram on the Wanbang Market, which is an increase of 12.50% from the week before. The green peppers on the Wanbang Market mostly come from Shandong and Guangxi. The price has seen an increase because of a drop in the supply.

Last week marked the end of the Shandong green pepper supply, so availability halved. Guangxi green peppers only enter the market sporadically, so they cannot easily satisfy the market demand. This leads to an increase in price. After last week, the price became 10 yuan per kilogram. It is estimated that the price will fall back somewhat this week, because the Guangxi supply will increase, and the quality is inferior to that of Shandong peppers. Therefore, the price will drop. Hainan green peppers will most likely enter the market in around ten days.
