China's first key laboratory for inspection of grapes in Ningxia

The Ningxia department for inspection and quarantine recently divulged that the national department for product quality inspection has approved the construction of a key laboratory for the inspection of grapes and wines in Ningxia. This is the country's first key laboratory concerned with grapes and related products, which includes grape sprouts, and grapes for consumption. It is also one of the few national laboratories for the inspection of grape wine. The construction of this laboratory provides the Ningxia grape industry with technological support and technological service, and complements the weak points of technological ability in the inspection of the wine industry.

Up to the start of 2016, there were 86 wine companies who were invested in Helan Mountain, Ningxia. The surface area of grape cultivation measured 40,667 hectares. The annual production was around 1,200 million bottles and the overall output value was close to 20,000 million yuan [3,020 million USD]. The industry provided 120,000 jobs. 16,800 containers of Ningxia wine already passed through inspection and quarantine in the production area, on their way to distant countries and areas like France, Australia, Spain, Denmark, the States, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Hong Kong. This is a great achievement for domestic wines in the conquest of high-end markets.
