Animal shaker raises vegetable consumption in children

In collaboration with the TNI supermarket chain, Hoogvliet has developed a special children's cup as a packaging for snack tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. The packaging has animal characters, intended to raise the vegetable consumption among children. "Children love them and are more likely to come into contact with the snack vegetables."

"At the moment we are carrying this packaging exclusively. We will have this packaging until at least the end of the year and then we will review whether to continue it," says fruit and vegetables Category Manager Ed van Venrooij. At the moment there are Dutch greenhouse vegetables in the cups, but he doesn't rule out them being followed by imported produce in the winter season.
