First Polish apples land in China

On November the 23th, the first batch of Polish apples arrived at Chengdu International Airport. In total, 2.2 tons of apples were shipped on this first transport.

Polish apples received market access to China in June this year, after a visit by the Chinese President Xi Jinping to Poland. After the visit, China's AQSIQ and the Polish agricultural sector signed a protocol on the 'export of Polish apples to China'.

In order to implement the protocol, the AQSIC sent a special working group to Poland that visited apple orchards, packing stations and cold storage facilities, and checked whether Polish growers and exporters were meeting agreed phytosanitary measurements. Chengdu Huiya Supply Chain Managament was one of the first Chinese importers that received a license to import Polish apples.
