Peru exported 29.41% more grapes to Colombia in January

The Commercial Office of Peru (OCEX) in Bogota stated that, according to data from Sunat, Peru exported more than 1.5 million dollars in grapes to the Colombian market in January this year, i.e. 29.41% more than the 1.16 million dollars exported in the same period of 2015.

Thus, Peru became the second largest supplier of grapes for Colombia with 30.9% share, ahead of exporters like the United States, Italy and Spain, which together accounted for 25.8% of the market share.

OCEX also stated that the main importers of grapes had been Almacenes Exito, Fruticola Commercial Panamericana S.A, and Exportaciones Fenix SAS, which account for 50.62% of Colombian grape imports.

Moreover, OCEX Bogota is planning the participation of Colombian buyers in the business meetings of the Andean Community, the Pacific Alliance, and in the business agendas at the Alimentec Fair from June 8 to the 11 in Corferias, and the Expoalimentaria fair, which is going to be held in Lima during the last week of September, so as to promote more Peruvian products for the Colombian buyers.
