First South African grapes arrive in Thailand

After 8 years of no access, Capespan was the first South African exporter to re-enter the market. The first 2 containers of Crimson Seedless arrived 2-3 days ago.

“We are very happy and the process all went very well through the customs and with the department of agriculture in Thailand,” explains Ewan Krige from Capespan South Africa.

The Far East market is a very important market for South African grapes. Capespan decided to send only 3-4 containers with the best possible quality and sizes, as required by the market. “However, we hope to send more volume in the coming years!”

During the function yesterday in Bangkok, some retailers and other important guests were present. They responded positively to the first arrivals of table grapes and all were very excited about future prospects of South African table grapes to Thailand.
