"First "Green Channel" port connects China and Tajikistan"

The first official "Green Channel" port for agricultural products has been opened to facilitate trade between China and Tajikistan. This is the first fast clearance channel for agricultural products between the two countries. Going forward, China and Tajikistan will give priorities to the handling and clearance of fresh products. It is also hoped that the port will boost agriculture production in Xinjiang province, near the boarder with Tajikistan.

Furthermore, it will promote export of agricultural products in Xinjiang and help farmers to increase their income.

Custom clearance now only takes half an hour, instead of the 6 hours previously. Trade between Tajikistan and China is becoming more frequent. Statistics show that in 2014 64 tons of agriculture products were past through the Port of Kalasu with a value of 7 million USD. 2,600 tons of fresh fruit and vegetables with an estimated value of 4 million USD were inspected by customs in 2014.
