In 2025, 2,300 hectares of farmland in Kazakhstan's Turkistan Region were planted with eggplants, with most of the acreage located in the districts of Saryagash, Sayram, Zhetysay, Keles, and Tyulkubas.
This year's harvest is projected to reach around 52,000 tons. As of early June, local farmers have already brought in 2,900 tons of early yield.
The expansion has been supported by government programs that offer partial compensation for fertilisers, pesticides, and other agricultural inputs. Combined with favorable growing conditions and established farming practices, these measures are helping to strengthen the region's position in vegetable production.
