European banana prices:

Banana prices rise in Nicaragua, Panama, and Costa Rica

Banana export prices recorded an upward trend for key Latin American suppliers in the most recent week, according to the reported averages. Costa Rica's average price per kilogram increased from £0.97 in the previous week to £0.99 in the current week. This marks a £0.02 rise, equivalent to a 2% increase, based on the data provided.

Panama showed a more significant change, with the average weekly price rising from £0.99 to £1.10 per kilogram. This represents an increase of £0.11, or 11%, making Panama one of the stronger performers in terms of week-on-week price movement. The price range for Panama was reported as static, with both the lower and upper limits at £1.10.

Nicaragua posted the largest increase among the three, with the average price climbing from £0.88 in the previous week to £1.04 in the current reporting period. This £0.15 rise reflects an 18% week-on-week increase. Like Panama, Nicaragua's reported price range was fixed, with both the lower and upper bounds set at £1.04.
