Tabuk citrus farms bloom as part of sustainable growth push

In April 2025, Tabuk Region's (Saudi Arabia) farms experienced the blooming of over 90,000 citrus trees across more than 8,000 dunums, featuring oranges, lemons, tangerines, kumquats, and other regional citrus fruits. Tabuk is recognized as a leading agricultural area in the Kingdom, attributed to its advanced infrastructure and government support. The region hosts over 14,500 farms spanning more than 270,000 hectares, promoting crop diversity and innovative agricultural practices. These efforts are aligned with achieving environmental and economic sustainability while catering to local market needs.

Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Tabuk, Eng. Amjad bin Abdullah Thallab stated to the Saudi Press Agency that the region's agricultural assets have contributed to the sector's growth. He noted, "Citrus cultivation has emerged as one of the leading agricultural initiatives in Tabuk." Thallab further highlighted that the ministry supports farmers through agricultural financing programs, providing modern equipment and training on best agricultural practices.

The agricultural expansion in Tabuk aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, focusing on enhancing food security and fostering balanced, sustainable economic development across the Kingdom's regions.
