Fellini Patrizio

"Celery Sticks" for different types of consumption

The Celery Sticks offered by "Fellini Patrizio" are made using a special variety suitable for making sticks as it is not very fibrous, less bitter than many other varieties, and crunchy. "It is a novelty that we have introduced recently, and the first feedback is positive. It is not just standard celery that has been cut, but a variety selected precisely for this purpose," explains sales manager Andrea Pignato.

Celery Sticks are suitable for different types of consumption: "The format is 150 grams in bags filled with 12-centimetre sticks. It is therefore suitable for aperitifs and dips, but nothing is stopping it from being consumed more traditionally as an ingredient in cooking. It is available all year round."

Another aspect that characterises this product is its shelf life of 12 days. "The variety, the speed of processing from field to factory, and the maintenance of the cold chain guarantee a long shelf life."

As for lettuce, Fellini started harvesting and marketing Trocadero, Romana, Iceberg, and Gentilina a few days ago."Harvesting operations of the various types of lettuce in Romagna started about 15 days late due to the weather. Now, however, we have good availability with a produce that is always fresh and delivered within a few hours of harvesting," explains Pignato.

Lettuce comes in many different types of packaging, ranging from loose to packed unwashed. "Lettuce in bags open on one side also continues to be a success. Fellini introduced this type a few years ago, and it continues to do well on big retail chains, and thus with consumers."

Fellini is also in the middle of the marketing season of asparagus (from Puglia) and local broad beans from Romagna. The company will attend Macfrut in hall B4, stand 1.
