Potatoes held in storage on April 1, 2025, totaled 131 million cwt, down 6 percent from April 1, 2024. Potatoes in storage accounted for 31 percent of the 2024 production, the same as a year earlier. The indicated season-to-date disappearance, at 290 million cwt, was down 4 per cent from the same period last year. Season to date shrink and loss, at 20.9 million cwt, was down 2 percent from the same time last year. Processors in the 8 States used 147 million cwt of potatoes for the season, down 5 per cent from April 2024.
