In the period from January to November 2024, Poland's fresh tomato imports were recorded at 217.77 thousand tons by the Polish Statistical Office. The Netherlands emerged as the predominant supplier, contributing almost 40% of the total imports during this timeframe. Specifically, Dutch imports to Poland tallied up to 84.80 thousand tons, surpassing the total export volume of 2023, which stood at 80.25 thousand tons.
Comparatively, Spain and Morocco followed the Netherlands in the volume of tomato imports to Poland, with Spain delivering 40.65 thousand tons and Morocco 32.97 thousand tons within the same 11-month period. Notably, November 2024 saw an influx of 4.9 thousand tons of tomatoes from the Netherlands alone, with the peak monthly delivery occurring in May 2024, amounting to 14.76 thousand tons.
Throughout 2024, Poland received tomato imports from a total of 33 different countries. Following the Netherlands, the largest volumes were imported from Morocco (4.8 thousand tons), Spain (2.7 thousand tons), Germany (2.4 thousand tons), and Turkey (1.3 thousand tons).
