Evelyne Adjei Mensah, Trust in isotopes

"There is a real need for traceability in the fruit and vegetable sector"

Trust in isotopes has come a long way since it was founded in May 2023. By offering its expertise to guarantee the quality and origin of its clients' raw materials, the young start-up is attracting more and more attention and has won a string of awards and accolades. "We started by doing a lot of work in terms of visibility because we are not from the Perpignan area, so we had to build up a network. Then, Bpifrance quickly got behind us and since then, we have won a number of awards as an innovative company, including the Letter M prize in the Young Start-up category in 2024. We also went to Finland in June that same year and reached the international finals of the Creative Young Entrepreneur competition. We took part in the CES (Consumer Electronic Show) in Las Vegas in January 2024 and gave a presentation on the challenges of traceability. We also took part in a number of trade fairs and were ambassadors for the first edition of the Agriculture Festival in the Pyrénées-Orientales region. It was a great opportunity to work with local producers and meet the general public to find out what they think," explains Evelyne Adjei Mensah, founder and CEO of Trust in isotopes.

"Trust does not exclude control"
While the company continues to expand and now looks to raise funds, the results have been "very positive" since its creation. "I have been able to confirm the company's position on the market. There is a real need for traceability in the fruit and vegetable sector, among others, not only to win back consumer confidence but also to enable local producers to prove the quality of their work and stand out from the competition. Our expertise is also an excellent way of proving that certain products are indeed organically produced. Some companies also call on us to check that the goods they receive really do meet the quality and origin criteria they claim. This is an excellent way of combating, for example, franking, because trust does not exclude control."

A move towards legal advice
Since its creation, Trust in isotopes' expertise has evolved, and it now offers its clients legal assistance. "We wanted to add another string to our bow by extending our offer to include legal advice. To support the scientific part, which is based on an isotopic analysis, we offer to provide legal assistance to our clients if an anomaly is observed in the results obtained. The aim is now to build a partnership with our clients by creating a recurring theme in our analyses and our support."

Evelyne Adjei Mensah is currently looking for external partners and will soon be welcoming an associate. "In the future, we hope to expand the team and build our own laboratory to carry out our analyses and satisfy our growing client base."
