"The market demand for temperature data loggers is picking up"

As consumers pay more attention to the quality of fresh fruits and vegetables, how to maintain the quality in logistics has a direct impact on their market pricing. In long-distance cold chain transportation, the temperature of the storage environment is the key factor to ensure the quality of fresh food. Therefore, it is particularly important to use suitable monitoring equipment to track the temperature, humidity and location information throughout the process.

Fresh-key (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. is committed to providing a complete cold chain IoT monitoring solution for the global food supply chain, with customers in dozens of countries such as America, Oceania, and Asia. Tina Sun from the company has nearly 12 years of experience in IoT systems and temperature measurement products in cold chains.

Regarding the latest information on temperature data loggers, Tina said: "With the opening of the peak fruit season in the second half of the year, the market demand has picked up. Our recent orders have increased significantly, especially the main USB temperature data logger which is very popular for its cost-effective and easy-to-use features.” Based on the demand recovery, Tina will bring her temperature-measuring products to Asia Fruit Logistica to meet with customers.

"The USB temperature data logger can store data stably at low temperatures, which is economical and practical, especially for sea transportation. For example, in cold chain transportation, the temperature of each part of the container is not the same, and many merchants will place several loggers in different positions in order to accurately monitor the temperature. In terms of use, the loggers can be attached to the outer package or pallet, which is easy to place and easy to find after the container arrives at the shore."

Tina mentioned that many new companies have joined the fresh fruit and vegetable industry this year, and the ease of use of the USB temperature data loggers is especially suitable for them: "The product can be plug-and-play. After one-button startup, the computer will automatically measure the temperature and generate a report without adding additional software." According to the introduction, the current production capacity is sufficient, and orders of less than 1,000 pieces can be shipped within a week of placing an order. The shelf life is up to two years.

In addition to the main USB temperature data logger, another core product of Fresh-key, the RTH 4G real-time temperature & humidity monitoring device, has overcome the problems the chips previously exhibited.

"The advantage of the real-time device is the compatibility with transnational communication networks, and the stability and timeliness of data transmission, which is suitable for land transportation. During the pandemic, the price and supply of key material electronic chips fluctuated greatly, but after the lift-up of anti-pandemic measures, the market and performance of Chinese-made chips have improved, and the products have stabilized. In recent years, we have brought this product to Latin America, Europe, and Asian countries for field testing and optimization, and contacted major overseas operators. In the recent cold chain transportation test from China to Russia, the product performed satisfactorily, and merchants placed additional orders for this."

It is understood that most of the current users of real-time devices are European and American merchants, but Tina believes that China’s emerging new businesses such as e-commerce, live broadcast, and community group buying in recent years have high requirements for fresh food logistics and distribution. The time-sensitive performance of this real-time device effectively meets this need.

At Asia Fruit Logistica held in Hong Kong from September 6th to 8th, Tina will bring the above two temperature loggers to meet and communicate with all friends.
