Onion farmers staged protest in Yeola over lower prices

This Monday, onion farmers staged an protest in Yeola to draw the attention of the federal and the state government to falling wholesale onion prices. They protested under the banner of Prahar Shetkari Sanghatna in front of the office of the sub-divisional officer in Yeola. Farmers said while the cost of growing one kg of onion is Rs 18, farmers are getting around Rs 7 per kg, causing heavy losses.
