"The bell pepper season has gotten off to a great start in terms of quality and price," says Marco Bergman of Harvest House. "The demand has generally been good since the first day of harvesting, partly due to shortages in Spain caused by the weather conditions and also because we ourselves came into the market very quietly with our Dutch peppers."

"That slow supply has persisted. No extremes have been observed when it comes to the volumes available; as a result, the supply and demand have remained in good balance, so we have been able to obtain reasonably good bell pepper prices. There will also not be a huge peak or a huge dip in the supply in the coming period, unlike what we experienced in other years."
"So far, peppers have also been qualitatively spared from any big problems. Of course, we are working with our growers to ensure that this will certainly remain the case for the rest of the season. So, should the bell pepper campaign continue to develop like this, we expect the season ahead to be a satisfactory one. Still, we cannot take anything for granted yet!"
