On June 17, members and staff of Growers United will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a summer party. Growers United was founded in 2013 by a group of fruit vegetable growers with the aim of improving growers' returns through cooperation in the fruit vegetable category. Cooperative chairman Jack Groenewegen says: "Entrepreneurial members are crucial to functioning as a powerful cooperative. In 10 years, we have developed from working together to doing business together."

The past 10 years have been marked by growth and development. Through the organic growth of its own members and attracting new members, Growers United has grown into one of the largest fruit vegetable producers in the Netherlands. At its inception in 2013, Growers United was a small player with 35 companies and 270 hectares. Now 37 companies are members of the cooperative, and the acreage is 650 hectares.
Meanwhile, the cooperative cooperates with parties in southern Europe and North Africa for a year-round supply of fruiting vegetables. By investing in market data and knowledge, Growers United is increasing the knowledge partner of service providers and retailers.
The cooperative's activities are aimed at achieving a stronger position for its members, such as the Future Proof development program, joint stock cooperative, internationalization, innovation, and accelerating sustainable production. A major step in the development of the cooperative was the construction of a joint packing hall and office in Maasdijk in 2020 and, this year, the construction of a new packing plant for block peppers in Zwaagdijk. The organization is ready for the future, thanks in part to the administrative innovations implemented this year.
