Malihanad mango variety named after Prime MInister Modi

The mango growers of Malihabad have named a new variety after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The PM has often revealed his love for the 'king of fruits'. Technically, this means that no other mango variety can be named as 'Modi' now.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has registered the variety and handed over the registration certificate to Malihabad's Upendra Singh. The variety, as per claims, has more pulp than fibre, just like Dussehri, a world-famous mango variety from Lucknow's mango belt, Malihabad.
