There are still two days to go to book a meeting with the delegation of buyers and producers from Eastern Europe, mainly former USSR countries. The delegation includes 50 companies and is led by Evgeniya Kravchenko.
"The main nations represented are Russia, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Armenia. Operators include fruit, vegetable and berry buyers and entrepreneurs looking for technologies," explains Kravchenko.

Together with the delegation from Uzbekistan, there will also be representatives from a local credit institution who will assess the investments and provide an opinion straight away. This is something entirely new when it comes to fairs.
"From Armenia, we will have buyers interested in importing fruits and vegetables from Italy and other countries, but they are also interested in technologies."
"Compared with a few years ago, when the entrepreneurs who came to Macfrut looked mainly for basic cultivation tools, they are now also interested in post-harvest technologies. Russian operators are instead looking for high-tech greenhouses and seeds, while operators from Moldova are interested in the nursery sector and storage units."
"We have an exhibitor from Azerbaijan - Az-Saffron MMC - which produces saffron and is the first exhibitor part of the Spice Hall from a former USSR country. Adalat Abdullayev will welcome guests interested in the produce in stand A1 - 163. Az-Saffron MMC intends to open a new chapter for Eastern businesses: not only purchasing machinery and technology from Europe, but also promoting its own local products."
