The Women's Fresh Perspectives Conference in Orlando, Florida, began Sunday with the Opening General Session led by Vicki Myoda, Predictive Index expert. Myoda helped attendees understand their PI or Predictive Insight results and how they can help increase efficiency and productivity and reduce stress. After, attendees headed into their first of many networking moments before starting a full day of programming and development the following day.

On Monday, after a morning stretch, attendees heard from Mimi Brown, CEO of Amp Up Success, with the opening session: Own Your S.W.A.G.: Elevate your Personal Brand so Others Take Notice. What is SWAG? It's your Strengths, Wisdom, Achievements, and Goals.
Brown spoke about taking inventory of what makes someone memorable and getting comfortable speaking about strengths and accomplishments. Self-promotion should be seen as increasing personal brand visibility, and when women claim their achievements and stand in their power, they give other women permission to do the same.
When asked about her reflections on the opening session, Melanie Schroedter from Wonderful Citrus spoke about how important and meaningful it was to see so many women interested and present in this sold-out conference. "Women have been breaking barriers in the produce and floral industries for many years, so to see so many women here learning how to own their positions and achievements and then taking that strength back to break barriers in their workplace is inspirational," she said.

Following the opening session, attendees participated in two of three concurrent sessions on building an empowering professional network, negotiating from a position of power, and an executive track session led by experts from Korn Ferry.
A general session on mentoring took place over lunch before attendees jumped into the second set of concurrent sessions on investing and financial literacy, teamwork, and going from conflict to collaboration, and a special session on becoming an advocate for what matters. This session was hosted by IFPA's vice president of nutrition & health, Mollie Van Lieu, and a panel of industry leaders.
Closing the education sessions for the day, IFPA's Cathy Burns was joined by Angela Fraser of the California Avocado Commission, Laura Himes of Walmart, the IFPA board of directors, and Lori Taylor of the Produce Moms.
Tuesday, April 18, brought more sessions, including the closing session from the legendary British skier Chemmy Alcott.
