Solidus Solutions, a supplier of solid board packaging, is now called Solidus. The new brand identity coincides with a new growth phase for the company, which in March appointed a new CEO, Rienk Jan van der Kooi, and earlier this year announced an €11 million investment in a new line of packaging solutions.
The company has been transforming recycled paper-based products into an extensive range of circular packaging and solid board for more than 150 years. In 2022, the company produced 375,000 tonnes of solid board, almost 99% of which was produced from recovered paper.
Futurline
Solidus has five board mills, 12 product processing plants, and 1,500 employees. Under its new brand, Solidus is committed to new growth and market expansion. For example, it recently launched Futurline®, a range of innovative packaging solutions for the retail sector, including skin packaging, MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging), and trays and dishes. Thanks to an €11m investment, these products are already being rolled out in Benelux, France, Germany, Poland, the UK, and Spain. The company also sees new opportunities for Futurline in the Middle East and Africa, as food companies in those regions are also looking for more sustainable packaging solutions.
