UK: Data confirms supermarket ranges becoming healthier after manufacturers reformulate products
New Kantar Worldpanel data, released by the Food and Drink Federation (FDF), confirms that the average shopping basket in the UK has become healthier in recent years. This is based on metrics developed by the government to enable nutritionists to ‘score’ food, looking at a range of factors from sugar to protein to fruit and vegetable content.

Kenya: Naivas to open six more stores in 100 outlet race
Retail chain Naivas plans to open six more stores in the next two months as it races to a record 100 stores by any retailer in the region. The six outlets follow the supermarket chain's hitting the 91 mark in December 2022 which the firm had earmarked as part of its the plan to hit a million-dollar store in market value.

Greece: Relatively low grocery prices
Supermarkets in Greece generally have lower prices than other countries in Europe, but this is a phenomenon that is mainly related to the fact that in Greece most vegetables and fruits are cheaper and in general products sold in bulk. According to research carried out by the Research Institute of Retail Consumer Goods (IELKA) on 45 product categories, it appears that the average shopping basket in Greece has a value of 184.50 euros, the lowest in the survey, with the second cheapest basket in Portugal worth €185.2. From the analytical data of the research, it appears that Greece is relatively cheaper for products such as onions (€1.19 per kilogram) and apples (€1.82/kg, with France more expensive at €2.88/kg), frozen fish (€10.98/kg) and fresh beef (€11.67/kg).

Ozon reports 55% jump in 2022 revenue
Online retailer Ozon said its 2022 revenue jumped 55% to 277.1bln roubles ($3.4bln) but costs related to a major fire in a fulfilment centre pushed it to a larger annual loss.

Canada: T&T Supermarket set to expand to London, Ontario in 2024
As one of the fastest growing supermarket chains in Canada, T&T Supermarkets announced that it will be opening a new store in London, Ontario. The company confirmed the store, which is expected to open in Summer of 2024, is located at 530 Oxford St W, the southeast corner of Oxford St W and Wonderland Rd. US: Costco Wholesale Corporation reports March sales results

US: Instacart hikes valuation 18%, The Information reports
Delivery giant Instacart raised its internal stock price by 18% in late February compared with December, according to reporting by The Information, which cited a person with direct knowledge of the matter.
