In Mazandaran province, Iran, exports of citrus fruits and kiwi have seen significant activity. Babak Momeni, the Head of the Agricultural Organization in Mazandaran, reported the export of over 76,000 tons of orange and 25,000 tons of tangerine. Additionally, the province has exported more than 101,000 tons of citrus fruits alongside over 24,000 tons of kiwi fruit.
Specifically, 10,256 tons of kiwi fruit were exported to India. Comparatively, the previous year saw the export of more than 48,000 tons of orange and 13,000 tons of tangerine from Mazandaran. On a national level, Iran has exported over $6.2 billion worth of agricultural products in the last Iranian calendar year, marking a $1 billion increase from the previous year. Hamed Najafi Alamdarlou, Deputy Director for Planning and Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, highlighted a $2 billion improvement in the trade balance for agricultural products. This growth in exports is attributed to increased production, high product quality, and rising demand in target markets.
