Ukrainian garlic: revitalization strategy for the industry

Ukraine has the potential to become a stable producer of garlic, according to Mikhail Soroka, the director of AGROMOMM company and a renowned expert in the garlic industry. However, he notes that this potential is only partially used at present.

One of the key issues highlighted by Soroka is the instability in the industry, caused by war and economic difficulties. He also points out problems with the quality of planting material and the lack of legal protection for certain garlic varieties.

Nevertheless, Soroka is confident in the prospects for revitalizing the industry. He has planned a project to cultivate single-toothed garlic on a 20-hectare plot in the Dnipropetrovsk region, aiming to produce up to 200 tons of high-quality seed material. The key aspect of his project is the use of proprietary cultivation technology, which ensures high yields and plant health.

A positive aspect of Soroka's plan is his deep understanding of market needs and focus on precision agriculture. He proposes creating an entire chain from new selection to retail sales, which can significantly improve the quality and competitiveness of the produced garlic.

According to Soroka, Ukraine can quickly become a stable garlic producer, with an industry turnover of at least $100 million per year. This could lead to the creation of at least 2000 new jobs and improve the country's economic situation. He calls on optimistic entrepreneurs and experts to join efforts in revitalizing this important industry, which has great potential for both the market and the country's economy.
