Spain: Syngenta launches new varieties of cucumber Triunfal and Tridente

Syngenta keeps on widening its catalogue of varieties for the cucumber segment in intensive cultivations, replying to the local producers needs. So, this campaign launched two new varieties of Dutch cucumber - the Triunfal, for Winter harvesting in the Granada coast, and Trident, for late winter harvesting in Almería.

The Triunfal variety offers quality and high productions in the Winter months with low temperatures. This variety is recommended for Winter harvests from mid September to the first days of October, presenting a strong plant to face low Winter temperatures in the Granada cost, where there's no use of double layer ceilings. Another important characteristic is that it counts on a good resistance package against virus and other diseases that affect this cultivation (HR: CVYV; CCu and Cca; IR: CMV and good behavior against CYSDV).

On its part, Trident is another new variety highlighted by its production and vigor, together with a good resistance in the late Winter segment for Almería and also other colder areas in the Granada coast, for harvests between the first days of October up to the first days of November. It presents a plant of high vigor allowing a big production and allowing its use in later transplants, apart from having very good resistances (HR: CVYV; CCu and Cca; IR: CMV; and good behavior against CYSDV).

Thanks to Kantaka's productions of high quality in the Winter months, a better commercial turnover is the result.

Kantaka pleases for its fruits, without bottle neck, well formed, fluted, dark and with a commercial range in the whole production cycle and also due to the plant's structure that helps ventilation and lighting, reducing the risk of fungus infections and improves the fruit's quality.

It also offers good resistance to virus and diseases (HR: CVYV; Ccu; IR: CMV and good behavior against CYSDV).
