This year again the Piedmont region (Italy) will intervene in support of small and medium farms, forced to put Psa prevention and control measures into effect. On 21st May, 2012, in fact, regional grants and a budget of one million Euro were approved.

Psa appeared in the Piedmont region in 2010; in 2011 it caused a 200 hectares reduction of kiwifruit acreage. In Piedmont this crop involves 2,600 farms for a total of 5,500 hectares and an annual turnover of 120 million Euro.
