Malaysia: Tropicana safe and nutritious
The fear over carbendazim in orange juice has spread to Kuala Lumpur. Permanis, manufacturer and supplier of Pepsi's Tropicana brand in the country has felt it necessary to issue a statement to the effect that the juice is completely safe to assuage any worries consumers may have as a result of the recent health fear that is gripping the US and Australia in particular.
"Consumer safety is paramount to Tropicana and we are committed to providing products that are of the highest quality and safety," said Permanis' Vice President of Marketing Hemalatha Ragavan in a statement today. "We also routinely conduct rigorous quality tests on our products to ensure Tropicana's range of juice products in Malaysia is in full compliance with all local standards and regulations. Our juices are safe and nutritious, and we stand proudly behind our high-quality, great-tasting products," she added.
One of Malaysia's leading drink manufacturers, Permanis has been operating since 1973 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Asahi Group Holdings Ltd, Japan.
