Food & Innovative Technologies
The natural solution to preserve the freshness

The Italian company Food & Innovative Technologies has developed a process which allows the preservation fruit and vegetables and their nutritional properties in an absolutely natural way.

On the left, check after 36 days from packing of Vittoria grapes in traditional package. On the right, check after 36 days from packing of Vittoria grapes packaged with the process of Food & Innovative Technologies. The remaining grapes packed with the innovative process are stored in the refrigerator to verify the preservation limit.

This process includes pre-packaging with a food film tested and sorted to avoid recontamination of products after the microbial stabilization, obtained through physical treatment in Food & Innovative Technologies plants.

On the left, a Vittoria grape tray packed as usual. On the right, same grape variety packed with Food & Innovative Technologies process.

So it is possible to store products for long periods and then you can manage the marketing depending on harvest needs (weather forecasts, etc..) or on particular difficult market conditions.

The preservation of the product throughout the supply chain, from the pack-house  to the store/shop (via transport and delivery platforms), is guaranteed without the use of chemical additives (eg SO2), modified atmosphere or long pasteurization processes. These often spoil not only the taste of fresh and/or processed product.

On the left, check after 7 days of usually packed strawberries. On the right, the same strawberries packed with the innovative Food & Innovative Technologies process.

The product packed with Food & Innovative Technologies process is not affected by the potential lack of strict preservation of cold chain along the supply chain. This effect produces an advantage especially for fruits and vegetables because handling and display on store/shop shelves at higher temperatures can cause early deterioration, making it unmarketable. As everybody knows, waste has an inevitable impact on selling price of product.

On the left, check after 14 days of usually packed 'Ferrovia' cherries. In the middle, the same cherries packed with Food & Innovative Technologies process, after 14 days. On the right, a further check on these cherries after 48 days from packaging.

The benefits of the process developed by Food & Innovative Technologies can be transferred to final consumer who can eat the whole product, after the opening of the package.

On the left, check after 17 days of usually packed asparaguses. In the middle, the same asparaguses packed with Food & Innovative Technologies process, after 17 days. On the right, a further check on these after 27 days from packaging.

The consumer can freeze small purchased package (fruit, vegetables/salads, pasta, etc..) and then enjoy them in all their original freshness and nutritional content.

As for production capacity of plants realized by Food & Innovative Technologies, you can choose between 3 models that allow treatment of 1, 2 or 4 pallet with floor load and available load height of mt. 2.40.

Timing for the process of fresh produce is under 10 minutes per cycle; so it is easy to calculate the processed volumes per hour/day. All models are modular, so you can easily double the production capacity of the chosen initial plant.

On the left, Lollo head packed with Food & Innovative Technologies process, on 11th January, 2010, after 29 days of storage at 4 C. On the right, a fresh head just harvested and packaged.

Operators who want use the Food & Innovative Technologies technology need a flow pack system based on the package size to be proposed on the market and able to seal the plastic film under the protocol of technology application.

Process innovation is an essential element of competitiveness for companies, also and especially in crisis periods: only those who will look to medium-long term win.
