Argentina: Technology increases blueberry production

The pneumatic equipment for harvesting blueberries makes it possible to reach 100 kg per harvest, compared with the 25 kg that are obtained manually, according to Chilean producers. Latinberries, collected by the Informe Frutihortícola, shows that
in the month of March 2011 the forest estate 30 kilometers from the city of Osorno in Chile seeks to maximize the automated process of harvesting and packaging of the blueberry. After importing 5 pneumatic machines for harvesting and pruning from Italy they will look for more. The machines improved harvesting, going over the 110 kilos per day. Each of the 5 machines purchased were the MC 820 of Campagnola which are capable of harvesting with teams of 8.
