The award win follows the launch of frozen Tenderstem® exclusively in Iceland Foods in January 2018, an innovation which is a world first for the brand after almost a decade in development.
Frozen Tenderstem® is supplied by TSA International Ltd, which developed a technique of freezing the hand-picked crop as individually-frozen stems, delivering it to consumers in premium condition. TSA International Ltd, Sakata, the vegetable breeding and seed specialists behind the creation of Tenderstem®, and Coregeo®, master licensor of Tenderstem® in the UK, worked closely to bring the product to market.
Coregeo®’s Assistant Marketing Manager, Theresa Richards says: “The development of frozen Tenderstem® has been a complex process, so it’s very rewarding to be recognised by the experts at the BFFF for the quality and innovation of the product. We know that our frozen stems are already winning the hearts of Iceland customers, but it’s great to have the official stamp of approval for our latest innovation.”
The BFFF win comes hot on the heels of success at the FAB Awards in May where Tenderstem® won Gold in the ‘Best Press & Print’ category, recognising the work of the team at McCann Bristol who worked with world-renowned photographer Carl Warner to develop the 'make every dish a little adventure' campaign.
FAB is an international awards program focused entirely on work done for food and drinks brands. The awards recognise the critical contribution that outstanding creative work makes to building brands, identifying and rewarding the leading practitioners from over 60 countries.
