Turkey: Hailstorm damages grapevines in Antalya

A hailstorm in the Akseki district of Antalya damaged grapevines in the area. An official reported that grapevines over an area of 350,000 square feet, which were owned by 23 growers in total, were affected negatively by the hailstorm.

Grower Hakan Koparan: “The branches are broken, the leaves were torn from the trees, it is not possible to get good products from these trees anymore. We will not be able to harvest any products this season due to this unfortunate event. I used to gather 7-8 tons of grapes from my 40,000 square feet area and now I’m left with nothing. We hope state officials will lend a helping hand and assist us through this difficult time. “
