Tenute Caracci covers 25 hectares and, in addition to producing extra-virgin olive oil and wine, it cultivates a series of apricot varieties.
"After researching them, we planted 5 different apricot varieties. We wanted to prolong the season as much as possible to improve our turnover. Mogador is very early and is harvested during the first half of May."

"Another early variety is Flopria, which produces very large fruits (between AA and AAA) with an orange-reddish colour. Then we have Orange Prima, which is harvested in June and produces large fruits with an excellent balance between sweetness and acidity, and Orange Rubis, whose fruits have an orange colour, are juicy and with an excellent flavour."
The company produces around 15-20 tons of apricots a year, but yields depend on the season. Lately, it is looking to introduce tropical fruits such as avocadoes, as the entrepreneurs thinks "innovating means improving and experimenting new possibilities."
Tenute Caracci employs integrated cultivating methods as well as technologies to optimise the use of water and fertilisers. In addition, it monitors the presence of pathogens to reduce the use of chemical products.

"We opted for integrated cultivation methods to guarantee profitability over time, as it would be uncertain in case of organic methods, and to grow high-quality produce that is safe. We believe this method is the perfect combination of economic, social and ecological sustainability."
