Sebastiano Campisi and his nephew Giuseppe founded La Delux Sas in 2000. "We focus on producing selected high-quality fruit. The Delux brand is used for our premium top-of-the-range production."
The company plans all harvesting phases and then processes, packages and ships the fruit to the main domestic wholesale markets. It was the company itself that chose to focus on domestic markets and to not (yet) consider retailers.
The company processes citrus fruit in its 1,000 square metre facility. Peaches and grapes are also commercialised during summer.
"Our flagship product remain blood oranges. Over the past few years, we spent a lot of money to deal with the problems caused by the Tristeza virus (CTV) and are therefore replacing groves with innovative more resistant varieties."
All processing phases are carried out with the utmost care, from harvesting (the produce is washed, sorted and waxed within 24 hours) to packaging. The company employs a team of around 30 skilled operators.

"Last year, the weird weather led to small grades - grades 4 and 6 are very hard to find. It's unfortunate because large oranges are what the Delux brand is proud of. This of course was caused by the high temperatures and drought."
